Movie Review: Paranormal Activity 2

After experiencing what they think are a series of "break-ins", a family sets up security cameras around their home, only to realize that the events unfolding before them are more sinister than they seem.

So my boyfriend made me watch Paranormal Activity 2 last night and I really hate him for it.  Okay, maybe not hate as hate is a strong word and all.  How about dislike?  I really dislike him right now.  Don’t get me wrong.  It’s not because the move sucked balls or anything.  It’s because I’ll have to sleep with a friggin’ light on for at least a week.

I’m not going to get into details about the movie because I’d end up giving away a ton of spoilers and I don’t know about you but, I hate spoilers.  All you really need to know is that this damn movie made me scream in a movie theater like a tween at a Justin Bieber concert.  Granted everyone else around me screamed too but, I never thought in a million years it would happen while watching a movie…in a packed theater.  Not enough of a reason to compel you horror and scary movie fans?  How about two-thirds of the way through I ended up covering my eyes because the tension and stress of watching it was too much to bear.  For Pete’s sake I was sweating people and no I’m not kidding.  I literally couldn’t take another second.

I watched Paranormal Activity (yes, the boyfriend made me watch that one too) and you don’t necessarily have to watch it to understand what’s going on in part two but, my advice would be to check it out before going to see PA2 because it’ll add a layer of intensity to the events that unfold.

I’m recommending this flick to those of you who love to get the crap scared out of you.  People with heart conditions and those of you who don’t like to jump and/or scream while watching a movie in a packed theater might want to go check out something else.

Check out the movie trailer here.

  1. OMG! I just can't watch movies like this...because I don't like to get the crap scared out of me. I'm giving you major kudos Jen for being brave enough to even enter the theater!

  2. LOL! Thanks Julie. My boyfriend paid a heavy price for dragging me to go watch it. He typically stays up later than I do and I made him to go bed with me early for a week so I wouldn't fall asleep alone. LOL!!
