Plinky Question of the Day

You’re probably scratching your head and saying to yourself, ‘what the hell is a plinky?’.  Well I’m not sure what an actual Plinky is but, I discovered a website called Plinky who, according to them, ‘makes it easy for you to create inspired content. Every day we provide a prompt (i.e. a question or challenge) and you answer’.  I discovered the site about a year ago and thought that it would be a cool weekly feature to add to the blog to get to know you guys better and vice versa.  Sometimes the questions will deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t.  So without further ado here’s the first Plinky question of the year:

I’d want to go to the future.  Say 100 or 150 years from now.  If only to see if we become a cool Jetsons* type world or a fight to stay alive type of society.  I’ve seen enough and read enough post apocalyptic type stuff to want to know if I need to prepare my family or their family’s family for that type of future.

*The Jetsons were a cartoon family that lived in a futuristic utopia in the year 2062.  It was a cartoon show that aired from the mid to late 80s.

The Jetsons Intro

  1. Not sure what's going on with You Tube but, here's the link to the video I posted

  2. One, YouTube is a works when it wants to! lol

Two, in answer to your question I would hands-down, no question go to the past!! I'm a Historian at heart and most of the time, I have my head stuck in the 1800's anyway so if given the chance I would visit in a nanosecond!! I doubt an hour would be enough, but beggars can't be choosers right?! haha

  3. LMAO! A total bastard!

I had a feelin' you'd say that. I can just see it running down the streets of Victorian London. ;-)

  4. Jen - I LOVE LOVE LOVE this question idea. I know Julie does one at her blog and I think it is a lot of fun and a great way to get to know others in the blogging community!

For me I would go back to the Wild West or to the 1800's in London. I would have loved to live in those times (except for the illnesses with no cure) but I always find those times very romantic...I'm a sap I know! :-D

  5. I would go to the future but not so far as 100 or 150 years from now. I would go about 30-40 years from now. One for the same reason as Jen, to see how the living conditions are since they say next year will be the end. Lol Two, since I think we will all still be here, I would like to see what my kid(s) lives are going to be like in order to prepare them from now. That would be nice just to have a glimpse of the future just to be better prepared and possibly if there is a chance of making things better or easier.

  6. Oh fun question -and trickier to answer than I would have imagined... I don't think I would go to the future. I may not like what I see and it may depress me. So, I would go to the past. I once worked at Upper Canada Village as a teen growing up in 1865. I think that's where I would go. To see for real how it all went down back then. That would be fun.

  7. I would probably go back to the 60s. I've always thought that I grew up in the wrong era, but it would be nice to put that thought to rest once and for all.... was the 60s really as EPIC as I have in my brain?

Cool feature, I'll be looking forward to more

  8. @deanna - I wasn't really sure if this was going to work so it's a relief to know you really like it. I think it'd be interesting to see you slingin' a six shooter or in one of those Victorian getups.

@Kenia - Hi cuppy cake! Looks like it's just you and me takin' a peek into the future. I'm sure my answer would've resembled yours if I had a little angel like yours to look after.

@Julie - It was a bit tricky for me too. I like that you're curious about getting the real scoop.

@Spinecracker - Oooh...I like the 60's too. LOL...I'm sure you'd make it an epic time travel experience. Glad you're diggin' the feature!

  9. I would definitely go to the past. I would like to see my relatives and find out my true origins in this great big world. I like these Plinky questions Jen. Keep em coming!

  10. @Autumn - this Zee? If I was granted a second hour in a time machine then I'd probably want to go back and check out my family tree too. Glad you like 'em!
