Plinky Question of the Day

The Plinky Question of the Day is a weekly feature I added to the blog to get to know you guys better and vice versa.  Sometimes the questions will deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t.  Because, let’s face it, there’s more to us than what we read.

If you could work from anywhere, where would you want to live, and why?  Somewhere urban? Rural? A different country?

This question was pretty easy for me to answer.  If I could choose any place in the world I would pick Hawaii.  And NO it’s not because of…

I never really got into that show.  *shrugs*  My parents took me when I was 4 and all I remember is a friggin’ pineapple plant.  What?  I was four!  Wait, what?  Yes, I said pineapple plant.  Yes, I know people often think they grow on trees but, I assure you it’s a plant.  See…

Cute aren’t they?  Anywho, I digress.  I’m not sure if my fascination with the Hawaiian Islands was born on that trip but, it’s definitely grown over time.  It’s one of those things that I like to fantasize about ALL the time.  Yes, I know it’s really just a big volcano but, no risk no reward, right?  I think it’s one of the few places that has it all.  Beautiful beaches, lush rainforests, majestic mountains and all types of weather.  There’s something for everyone.  I also think there’s something to be said about that laid back island vibe.  But enough of my babbling.  I’ll let these pictures do the talking.

Beautiful, right?  Right!  So when I win the lotto you’ll find me sitting here…

And yes, you’re all invited.  I’ll have the Mai Tais ready upon your arrival.

How about you guys?  Where would you want to live and why?

  1. I had NO idea that pineapples were a plant! I'd say who knew, but apparently you did. When you win the lottery san I come visit?! *bats eyelashes at you*

If I could live anywhere it would be London. It's one of my favorite places on earth. I try and go every year and every year I love it more and more.

    Happy Weekend Jen!

  2. It's one of the weirdest things I've ever remembered. LOL! Of course you can visit. All expenses paid. =)

I've always wanted to visit London. Isn't the weather kind of sucky though?

    Thanks Jess. You too!!

  3. I actually lived in Hawaii for about 5 years (the military does have its benefits) and growing pineapple plants was a project of mine. They actually take about 18 months to grow into a mature fruit and I only grew 2 pineapples. You can grow them at home, no matter where you live.

If I could live anywhere I would probably pick somewhere in Europe or maybe back in Hawaii. London would work, rainy weather and all.

  4. London - hands down, no contest!!!

I've been obsessed with all things British since I was a kid and I actually went for the first time in 2009 and I didn't want to leave! It was the first time that I could say I didn't miss home, weird huh?!

It was the most surreal, amazing two weeks. I was so comfortable there and I felt like I just belonged! The hubbs and I are talking about moving there someday *crossing fingers*

  5. @Anna - Hi Anna! Hope all is well on your end. Yeah, I remember when you first told me. I may or may not have gotten a little jealous. I had no idea you could grow them anywhere. I feel a project coming on. Something tells me London is going to be a popular answer. =)

@Isalys - Another point for London. I remember you metioning your british obsession. Or maybe it was Kenia that mentioned it. Not weird at all! If I visited Hawaii I'm sure I wouldn't miss home either.

Really?!? That would be cool and scary all at the same time. Does that mean I can crash at your place when I finally do visit?

  6. I would definitely want to live in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France. It would be a dream to live there! I love everything about France - it's exotic, romantic, and it seems like anything is possible there!

  7. Did my comment not go through again??!! :-(

Jen D - I loved Hawaii when I went, so beautiful.

For me I would chose Ireland. It's so green and I could live in the country but still be close to the city. Plus their buildings are so beautiful and the castles are breath taking!

  8. @Zee - make me want to visit Aix-en-Provence. A Paris vacation is totally on my Bucket List.

@Deanna - Has blogger been giving you trouble?!? Friggin' blogger. I'm a little jealous. I'm not even going to lie. I would love to visit Ireland. It's also on my Bucket List of places to see.

  9. I actually use to live in Hawaii when I was smaller. It was beautiful. Our house faced the volcanoes and watching the sun duck behind them was always a sight to see. But for me, I think it would be Scotland. I have always thought it was beautiful and it is a place that goes by its own time. They keep with traditions from centuries ago and I think that is very nice.

  10. Wow, really? That sounds like an amazing sight to see. *sigh*

Scotland is another one of those places on my Bucket List. Not to mention it's one of my favorite accents. ;-)
