Plinky Question of the Day

plinkybanner

The Plinky Question of the Day is a weekly feature I added to the blog to get to know you guys better and vice versa.  Sometimes the questions will deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t.  Because, let’s face it, there’s more to us than what we read.

What's the most expensive thing you've ever broken?

Okay so I’m kind of klutzy.  When I say kind of klutzy what I really mean is that I’m super duper klutzy.  I bump into things on a daily basis.  Sooo…I was at my aunt’s house for some sort of family function and she had a beautiful Tiffany (or imitation Tiffany) lamp, much like this one…

lamp

…on one of the tables in the living room.  Well I may or may not have been rough housing with my cousin when I accidentally hip bumped the table this lamp was sitting on.  As soon as I realize what happened my world started to move in slow motion.  I was all like, ‘Hooooollllyyyy shiiiiiii…’  while trying to catch the damn lamp in mid-air.  Unfortunately, I was unable to reach out fast enough to save it.  The lamp crashed to the floor and broke into 4 or 5 pieces.  My aunt was a pretty good sport about it but, I’m pretty sure she would’ve loved to at the very least shake the hell out of me.  I still feel really bad every time I stop by her house and see the scene of the accident.

How about you guys?  What’s the most expensive thing you’ve broken?

  1. I set fire to the grass of Tamiami Park as a child while my dad played Baseball with his friends. They all had to run over and stamp out the fire as it was nearing a gas meter.

  2. I really don't know what the most expensive thing is that I've ever broken...I'd have to ask my Mom about that one.

At least your aunt was a good sport about it Jen!

  3. My mom has always kept expensive things around and my grandmother owned an antique shop so I learned at an early age to walk softly. I can't remember the most expensive thing I've ever broken actually!

  4. @Pete: Figures you'd answer the question about breaking stuff. ;) Holy shite are you serious? How the hell did you manage to almost burn down the park? Thanks for stopping by. =)

@Deanna: Yeah that's true but, I totally wouldn't blame her if she had at least chased me around the house.

  5. @Ladytink: I wish I'd had that kind of training growing up. I'd have a lot less broken things that for sure. =)

  6. Hmm, I'm pretty clumsy myself...but I can't think of a time where I broke anything crazy expensive! Except for maybe a bone. Does that count? I'm sure that cost my insurance a nice chunk 'o change.

Oh and my brother crashed my car and cost State Farm a pretty penny too! LOL

I'm generally pretty good about not knocking down stuff - except myself. I'm still working on perfecting those pesky motor skills! lol

  7. LOL...yeah I think a bone definitely counts. I can't give you the car though considering it was your brother's fault. =)

I've given up hope that'll get better at not bumping into things.
