Plinky Question of the Day

The Plinky Question of the Day is a weekly feature I added to the blog to get to know you guys better and vice versa.  Sometimes the questions will deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t.  Because, let’s face it, there’s more to us than what we read.

If you could read minds for a day, would you?

Since Deanna and I will be hosting a Sookie Stackhouse discussion for Dead Until Dark tomorrow, I thought this was a perfect lead-in question.  My answer is HELL TO THE NO!  I would be a severe basket case if I had to endure listening to other people’s thoughts all day.  Of course, this is assuming that the question means I don’t have a choice on what I could listen in on.  Even if it means I did have a choice I still wouldn’t want the ability.  I think thoughts are private and should stay that way.  Lord knows I’ve had times where someone upset me or pissed me off and I’ve had a brief moment of really mean dialogue running through my head about them.  I know that’s kind of horrible but, I’m working on it.  Anyway, I’d hate for that person to listen in to that type of inner monologue when it’s not how I feel about them 99% of the time.

How about you guys?  If given the ability, would you read minds for a day?

  1. I completely agree Jen! I agree that the thoughts are private and I've thought to myself, while day dreaming or thinking in class, how embarrassing it would be if someone could be listening to my thoughts at that moment. I would hate that plus it would be to much noise trying to deal with listening to everyone in a room at once. Eek! No thank you!

  2. I think I'd pass also!! Lord knows I wouldn't want anyone eavesdropping on my thoughts! If they did, I'd constantly be in trouble, ha!

  3. Hi Isa! Dude, same here. BIG trouble.
