Plinky Question of the Day

The Plinky Question of the Day is a weekly feature I added to the blog to get to know you guys better and vice versa.  Sometimes the questions will deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t.  Because, let’s face it, there’s more to us than what we read.

Here’s $1,000.  Spend it in the next hour or lose it.  No online shopping allowed.  (And just to make this a little more challenging, you’re not allowed to buy books.  Yes, I went there.)

Stop giving me the evil eye guys.  Even though I took away book buying privileges I’m sure there’s plenty of other stuff you want to buy, right?  Right!  Personally, I’m heading toward the nearest Ikea to pick up some of these…

What?!  I didn’t say it couldn’t be book related.

After I load up the car with my new bookshelves I’m heading to the nearest electronics store to get my techie fix.  I might just walk out with one of these…

or perhaps one of these…

If I have any money left over I’m definitely following it up with some of this…

How about you?  Where would you spend your $1,000?

  1. Ooh.. This is a fun shopping trip. My first stop would be to purchase an ereader. Not sure yet which one. decisions..decisions...
Then I would head to my local home store to purchase a fab and pricey new comforter set. While I'm there I'll check out the table cloths. I know your probably wondering table cloths? but I just love when my table looks nice. Can't pass the Keurig k-cups while I am there. I'll pick up a few boxes while I'm there. Ooh.. they have a sale on candles.. I've gotta run.....

  2. LOL! Chris I felt like I was right there with you. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I'd pay rent. LOL.:/

    Or buy an iPad. :)

  4. Great question hon. I am not the kind of girl who does shopping sprees. I prefer plenty of electronics. So stick me in BestBuy! New iPhone, Xbox & games, DVDs. After that, spend the rest at Cami Cakes, an awesome cupcakes shop here that have many different varieties of cupcakes I haven't even tried yet. I know that means extra weight, but you haven't tried the cupcakes LOL!

  5. Ooh, a grand burning a whole in my wallet asking to be spent on anything of my choice...oh, the possibilities *scratches chin*

I'm pretty caught up on my techie stuff: Nook √, iPad √

But I could use another one of these:

I'm dying for one of these:

and I can't think of anything else...but give me time, I'm sure I'll come up with something ;-)

  6. O.M.G. I can't believe I missed the plinky question! I can't believe you're not letting me buy books. :-( And I can't believe you're not letting me use online shopping. Eek...Ok, I'm done now I'm going to start spending my $1000...

I would buy a new phone that is similar to the blackbarry but doesn't need internet to use it. $300

I would also buy a bigger bookshelf for my room. $100

I'd buy a new pair of boots. $200

Some new jeans and t-shirts. $300

Then I'm completely with you Jen, I'd go to the spa and get a massage and a mani pedi! :-D

  7. @Ash - Booo! I shouldn't included a clause about rent.

@Diana - I'm a techie kind of girl myself so I know what you mean. Mmm...cupcakes. Do they ship to Miami?

@Isa - Loooving that purse chica. I think you should add a pair of shoes to go with it. ;-)

@Deanna - LOL! Sorry...I knew almost everyone would say books so I had to throw you all a curve. Clothes and shoes a definitely a good way to go.
