Plinky Question for the Day

plinkybanner

The Plinky Question of the Day is a weekly feature I added to the blog to get to know you guys better and vice versa.  Sometimes the questions will deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t.  Because, let’s face it, there’s more to us than what we read.

Describe superhero you.

At first glance this appears to be an easy question but, when I sat down to hash out the details of superhero me I quickly became overwhelmed with all the awesome powers and details I could choose from.  I mean should I go with super speed and super strength or something more subtle like invisibility.  How about a costume?  What the hell am I wearing to this ass kicking shindig?  Where do I hang up my belt once the battle is over?!  After careful deliberation, here are the top 3 things I decided on:

Weather Control

LightningTornadoWinds

We all know how beautiful AND violent mother nature can be.  I thought it be an interesting power to have.  I also wanted to be pay homage to Storm, my favorite superhero growing up.

Bad Ass Costume

Meaning something along these lines…

StormBat GirlCatwoman

(Thanks ladies for keeping the tatas covered up!)

NOT these…

Ms. MarvelSupergirlWonder Woman

(Flying through the air, engaging in hand to hand combat or possibly being captured in a skimpy unitard cut high like a Baywatch swimsuit or stripper gear?  Absolutely not!)

Tricked Out HQ

BatcaveJustice League HQ

Because every superhero needs one, right?

Your turn!  Describe YOUR superhero self.

  1. I like this one. However. I have to get ready for a certain book signing, and don't have the time.

So I'm going to bookmark this post. I've got a 40 minute drive (one way) to the book signing, and I will think about this on the way there. HA.

    More later. ;)

  2. My superhero me would be a female version of Batman. Yes I know, very original... Why Batman?
Because he is human, has the coolest batcave ever, the most awesome cars, bikes, etc.. , wears the sexiest costume and uses the most technologically advance gadgets.

  3. Can I be a side kick like Robin? That way I could be committed 50% of the time.
"The Bat Signal is on Robin.".
My response would be... "You get this one Batman, I have the cramps."

  4. I would definitely be one of those nerdy superheros wearing underwear on the outside of their clothing - a geeky pair with my name embroidered on my tookus.

Super power....reading as fast as Johnny number 5 in Short Circuit and being able to apply that knowledge I gain uber super fast!!

How you like them apples?? muuuwhahahah

  5. @Marcela - Hey I totally get it. If you have to base your superhero self on someone Batman is definitely a good way to go.

@Jen - LMAO! Dude you come up with the funniest shit. You can be the Robin to my Batman anytime. ;-)

@Pabkins - *snort* That's the best visual ever. Extra points for using tookus. ;-) Short Circuit! OMG I haven't seen that movie in forever! I'm liking these apples.

  6. Love superhero you! While I adore Wonder Woman, I agree with getting caught while in slinky gear. I'm so down with Catwoman's full body leather!

  7. Okay. First, superhero me would have a super fast metabolism. It would help to keep me in shape, I could eat a lot of amazing food, and I'm pretending that the metabolism is tied into healing, and therefore I can heal faster should I get injured.

I would have super speed and super strength, but I would not be able to fly because I'm afraid of heights. This also means I won't fight on the top of buildings.

Superhero me would also be extremely smart and witty. I'd be able to out-wit my enemies AND make everyone laugh.

I would drive a super awesome sleek sports car with a manual transmission, and I would end up driving it like a race car driver (I already do this, but in my Ford Escort).

I'm not one to let things hang out there, so I would be covered well, but in something that would still allow for movement. I would also have a weapon belt of some type. Knives, guns, whatever gets the job done. I don't think I would have magic of some sort, since using magic is draining, and that could be dangerous in the middle of a fight.

And everyone would call me Flash.

  8. LOL
    Love it.
I think I would be able to heal.
    Look like Brenda Starr.
    And drive a fly car.

  9. @Smash - Thanks! I'm a fan of Wonder Woman too. I just dislike her costume. I was really happy when they updated her suit and put her in some pants.

@Amanda - Can I just say that I love the fact that you broke this question down. *high five*

Loving the fast metabolism idea and how it translates into healing abilities. Genius! No worries about the height thing. I'll blast them with some wind and knock them off the building so you can finish them off. ;-) LOL! I think you got the smart and witty thing down.

LMAO! Oh my. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods I'll keep an eye out for said Ford Escort.

I'm liking your decision to go with a weapons belt as opposed to magical ability. Smart move.

*grin* And of course I absolutely love the name Flash. ;-)

  10. @Juju - I'm loving your combo. Especially the flying car part.

  11. I'm supposed to be studying right now...oops...

Love this question! So for my superhero self I'd say that I would like the power to generate any kind of weapon I need at any given notice along with super speed healing. I'd be going against a lot of tough guys and I'd want to be able to heal from any injury and also be able to kick ass with any kind of weapon that is needed. For my outfit, I'm with you, something form-fitting but flexible and something that covers up most of my skin, except maybe some cleavage just for fun. :-P Some nice tall books and we've got it made. I'd also like a cave for my hideout, just like batman! I always loved that. :-D

  12. @D - LOL! Oh Oh! Well thanks for stopping by! Now go hit the books missy!

Holy crap that's a really good combo of powers. LMAO! Yeah I guess a little cleavage can work in your favor. ;-)
