This Shattered World Tour w/ @MeaganSpooner & @AmieKaufman

'Ello lovelies.  I had the opportunity to attend Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner's This Shattered World book tour on Friday at Books & Books.  As an added bonus, I also got to spend some time with Ana from Owl Always Be Reading and Ursula from Grownup Fangirl.  I'm happy to report that good times were had and two fabulous authors were met.

Instead of rambling like I normally do, I thought it'd be fun to recap the event through my live tweets and event pics.  Figured I'd try something new so if you like it, awesome!  If it doesn't do it for you, feel free to let me know in the comments.  Enjoy!

If they're coming to your town or to a town near you, you should definitely head out to meet them.  Check out their websites (links are above) for a list of tour cities and dates.  If you stuck around until the end of this post, thank you.  Here's a surprise for your effort:

  1. If I was smart like Lilac, I would try to salvage whatever I could of the radio, but since that's not an option for me...Probably water or food first. But if there was a good book lying around or a weapon, I would go for the book first, then the weapon. Who knows, maybe I would have time to read.

    1. I think that's an excellent strategy.

  2. Noooo! I got all excited about this, checked the tour and realized they were in my area last week and I had no clue :'( Gah! I am horrible with checking authors websites for tour stops. If only there was an app for that. LoL
If my ship crashed, I would try to salvage the food and water. Since you have no idea what's edible on the planet and if you can drink the water... if there is any.

    1. You always manage to make me laugh. =) Sunscreen and beer are, I think, excellent choices. I think you definitely will.

  6. Ooh, that's a good question! I think first I'd have to try and find water and/or food, since I'd like to stay alive (I think...depends on how strange this strange planet is...). But if there's none of that, I'd try to get some form of communication device... which I guess would have to be something that communicates across space so the folks at SETI would pick up my distress signal! Although, Congress will probably have defunded SETI by the time I ever set foot on a spaceship... SO, I'd probably be completely screwed in that department. Hmm. Maybe I should scratch all I've said so far, let's go with this: I'd salvage my luggage, which of course would be full of BOOKS! I mean, if I'm stranded on a strange planet, consumed by fear, hunger, and thirst, I really should probably have lots and lots of books to take my mind off how crappy my situation is... ;)

    1. PS - meant to tell you, in response to your note about trying out a new format for your event recap, I think the Twitter commentary feed is PERFECT! It's visually appealing since it's not just all text, shorter but powerful because it tells us what you found important enough to share in the moment, and a lovely change from reading straight "transcripts" from events (which I do read, but still, different is good). I think you've got a winning format here with the Twitter recap!! I dig it.
